Edward B.  Westermann, Regents Professor of History at Texas A.&M., has published extensively on World War II and the Holocaust. Among his publications is the book that will be the basis of his talk on April 25 – Drunk on Genocide: Alcoholism and Mass Murder in Nazi Germany. This work pushes against the traditional image of the SS as cold-blooded killers and shows them instead as men who, under the influence of masculinity and often alcohol, rejoiced in humiliating, tormenting, and killing their victims.

Presented by the College of Liberal Arts and the School of History, Philosophy and Religion. Monday, April 25, 7 p.m. REMOTE only; Live via Zoom (webinar). Free, open to all. Registration required. Register
